                                                                        Last week Stephen Lloyd visited Park College to meet the students. He said: "It was a real pleasure to meet the students. They had plenty of questions and showed a real interest in the whole political process. I was also tremendously impressed by just how knowledgeable they were. The whole class certainly proved the lie to the oft-quoted message in the national media that young people are not interested in politics. The ones I met at Park most certainly were and the opinions they had were robustly held.                                                                         In 2008 the government announced it was doubling the amount of money to fund rest periods for long-term carers, £50m was to be spent in 2010 and £100m next year. Two charities, the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and the Crossroads Care Charity, have recently analysed FOI (freedom of information) requests from 100 PCTs and claim only 23% of this years money has been used to increase services for carers.                                                                                </description>

                                                                        On Tuesday 16th March, East Sussex County Council published a report on the public consultation of a proposed merger between Rosemands and Stafford School in Eastbourne. The report by the Director of Children's Services rejected the proposal to close the two schools and open a new primary school, but instead supported a proposal to establish a formal partnership of collaboration between the two schools.                                                                                </description>
