Lib Dem campaigners are stunned at the news that an office block could be built in the green land by Cross Levels Way and Sainsbury's.

Liberal Democrat campaigners have discovered that under the current 'Park Plan' proposals, offices could be built around this area, meaning more over-development of the green areas around Hampden Park.

Hampden Park Lib Dem Councillor Mike Thompson said: "It is an outrage that offices are even being considered here. Hampden Park should remain green and must not be overdeveloped in any way."

"Local residents can rest assured that their Lib Dem Councillors will be fighting this to the end."

Lib Dem parliamentary campaigner Stephen Lloyd added: "Hampden Park is one of Eastbourne's great treasures and I am totally against offices being built in this area."
