'Pay To Park' £100 shock

4.34.15pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 9th Jan 2007

Local residents are angry at the news that families with two cars could have to pay £100 a year to park near their homes.

According to documents released by the Conservative County Council, families that have two cars will end up having to pay £100 just to park near their homes.

Worse still this scheme could extend deeper into Upperton, meaning local residents will have to pay huge amounts to the Conservative Council just to park near their home.

Anti Pay-to-Park campaigner Rebecca Madell said: "local residents are clearly angry about this stealth tax. The Conservatives have no right to charge people large sums of money just to park their car near their own home."

"Local residents can rest assured that their Lib Dem campaigners will continue to fight the Conservatives on this issue all the way."
