Liberal Democrats across Wealden have risen to the challenge set by their Shadow Spokesman for the Environment Chris Huhne, MP, by spreading the word about climate change.

"The biggest threat to our planet is global warming," said Willingdon District Cllr Andy Watkins. "Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, is a thought provoking analysis of how the world is changing and what we can do about it. It has been described as one of the most important films ever."

Cllr Tony Seabrook said "We were staggered to find there was not one library in East Sussex that had a copy. Not only that but they had been told by the County Council that they weren't allowed to buy any. This is just not good enough and all the Liberal Democrat District Councillors agreed that something had to be done. We have obtained copies of the DVD and are donating them to the libraries across Wealden."

He added "It is so important that residents can find out for themselves how climate change is affecting our planet and how we can all do something about it. Even buying low energy light bulbs and switching off our television when not using it would make a big difference."

The DVD "An Inconvenient Truth" will be now available in libraries throughout Wealden.
