Local residents are angry at the continuing problems facing the children's play area at Longland rec.

Two years ago the mini roundabout was removed and never replaced, then two weeks ago more play equipment was taken away by the Council.

Old Town Lib Dem campaigner Carolyn Heaps, who recently visited the site said, "As a parent who used to take my children to the Longland Rec, I was very disappointed to see the state of the play area. This part of Old Town has many young families, I was saddened to see yet more children's facilities being removed."

"The Conservative Council must address this important issue at once. Our young people deserve much better."
