Last week a new restaurant opened for business in Seaside Road, the RajDutt, specialising in contemporary Indian buffet cuisine. Lib Dem parliamentary challenger Stephen Lloyd was invited to launch the event.

He said: "I was delighted to be invited by the owner Amol Sil to do the honours. It is vital for the long-term regeneration of this part of town that all high quality start up businesses in Seaside receive our support. I remember having the pleasure of opening the Cosmo Chinese buffet restaurant a few years ago just up the road from the Rajdutt, and it has done very well in the intervening years. I am very confident, after sampling the delicious spicy food served at the RajDutt last week, that it too will prove to be a great success. To me the message is clear, Eastbourne is good for business."
