Last Friday Old Town Liberal Democrats celebrated their annual dinner at the Kings Restaurant in Park College. Special guest was the former President of the national Party and front bench spokesman on Home Affairs in the Lords, Lord Dholakia.

Stephen Lloyd said: "It was a great evening. The service and quality of food at the Kings Restaurant was, as ever, very high. I and all my colleagues were impressed with the students. Kings Restaurant really is one of Eastbournes best kept secrets.

"It was a little bit special to have Lord Dholkaia as our guest speaker. He was originally a liberal councillor in Brighton in the early 60's and has been a trailblazer for the Lib Dems ever since. During the dinner he also mentioned to me that he was originally from Tanzania. As I was born and brought up in Kenya perhaps we should start an East African branch of the Lib Dems!"
