Old Town Lib Dem Councillor Carolyn Heaps has spent an early morning shift working with SITA to clean up our seafront.

Carolyn said, "I wrote a letter in the Herald a few months ago, saying what I good job SITA were doing in cleaning our area. So I thought I would actually get involved and see at first hand how they work."

"I arranged to work with SITA during last week's Airbourne weekend. I spent my time helping them to clean up the seafront early in the morning, from the Wish Tower to the Promenade, before the crowds arrived, ."

Carolyn worked with SITA employee Mr. Colin Bassett. He commented: "It's lovely that a Councillor can see what we do and get involved. More people should do it."

Carolyn added, "It was a useful experience to work with SITA. We are all responsible for keeping our area clean and tidy and they do a great and sometimes difficult job in keeping Eastbourne clean."
