DGH Staff parking charges to increase by 100% in March

1.00.00am GMT Sat 27th Feb 2010

Staff at DGH have recently been informed that their parking charges are to go up from the 1st of March by 100%,from 50p to £1.00.

Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman Stephen Lloyd said: "I was very disappointed that parking charges in the public car park are set to rise but to then hear that parking charges for staff who work at DGH are to double in a few weeks is a real blow. This will be an extra burden for staff, many of whom are on low wages, and it is also bad news for the residents who live on the Rodmill Estate. They have been suffering for a long time now with staff choosing to park on the Rodmill rather than pay the parking charge, and this excessive increase will mean the problem can only get worse."

Stephen added: "I will be writing to Kim Hodgson, the Chief Executive of the DGH, asking that she re-consider both the staff parking increase and also the increased charges the public pay."
